I love snow. Unfortunately, I live in the area of the country where we don't usually get a lot of snow. So when it does snow, I want to enjoy it. But just because it doesn't snow here, it doesn't mean I can't add snow to my stories and put snow in my Christmas decorations.
And if you've read many of my Christmas books, you've probably noticed that almost every one has snow in it. When we were younger, there was a great sledding hill just up the street from us. It was perfect, and the neighborhood kids (and some dads) would often gather there when we did get a good snow and spend hours flying down the hill and then trudging back up again.
The winter I was 12 my best friends and I went down the hill together, but when I rolled off the inner tube at the bottom, something happened and my right arm, up near my shoulder, started hurting. I told my friends I had broken my arm, but they didn't believe me. But I had. That's the only time I've ever broken anything.

mansion's secret–before Christmas.

Ooh, fun! A snow memory I have is of trying and failing (miserably) to construct maple sugar candy like what Laura Ingalls wrote about in her books. But instead of taffy, the result of my experiment was only a pile of sweet brown slush. I ended up writing a short story based on the incident. 😂
What an interesting memory. I've always thought it would be fun to make maple sugar candy, but we live too far south.

Oooh, that jar is pretty! I love to fix up snow scenes using cotton fluffs. ;)

Yes!! I love snow, and where I live we have a bit of it! So that is fun!
Snow is one of my favorite winter things. One year we got enough snow to dig snow tunnels and go sled riding through them!

Wow, Natalie! That sounds like so much fun! One year my dad and us kids started building an igloo in a neighbor's yard. They thought it was fun and joined in. Soon we had at least 3 or 4 families involved in building it. But we had to fill sleds with snow from other yards and drag them over because we didn't have enough. :) I will say that the igloo did look a little funny standing in a yard with now snow left. ;)
