The Birds' Christmas Carol
by
Kate Douglas Wiggin
I love This story Having heard or read it every Christmas for as long as I can remember, it has become a part of my Christmases. Carol Bird, who was born on Christmas morning, plans and makes a special Christmas with the help of her family and Uncle Jack for the “Ruggleses in the rear” in honor of her 10th birthday. I find myself laughing as well as shedding a few tears as I reread this story year after year. I would recommend it to any age.
If you would like to listen to the story this year, you can download it for free here.
We like that story too! it is so sweet, although sad.
ReplyDeleteRebekah- I always love reading your comments on my blog! Thank you! Here is an answer to the comment you left a little while ago on the post about October pictures. :)
ReplyDeleteI certainly did enjoy The Open Door book! It was very interesting and inspiring as I read of the couple's love for children. And the way God helped them through each difficult time.
Your room sounds nice- I don't always have our room decorated in a specific theme. Sometimes I just like to have various things out. Especially when sharing a room. Upstairs, our 5 other sisters share a room, and they decorate around their own beds, giving the room a fun feel of variety!
That is so interesting that you learned Chinese. We just finished studying China in school. The writing is very artistic and elegant, and I'm sure very difficult to master!
I'm glad you enjoyed the post! :)
